Hari Raya

I sat there by my bed with my eyes dancing itself happily towards that beautiful kebaya waiting for my body to wear it as it lays beautifully on the edge of my bed. It's as if the kebaya is calling to me, "wear me now." Of course it does occur to me when the sound of the familiar verse being sung by the Imam of the mosque filling my ears made me feel that the days passed by so rapidly that the feeling of it was just yesterday I restrained myself from doing anything to make my fasting day go to waste land and now it's Raya already. My heart made lots of jumps under my ribcage as butterflies came fluttering into my stomach, the feeling of enthusiasm came storming to my emotions and I'm ready to get redamptions for all of those things I have done to have hurt the two souls that had brought me to life. yes, Mummy&Daddy. Oh yes, Raya is about that, you seek for forgiveness from those people that you have done wrong too and your sins will be erase the minute they actually have forgive you for it, it is also a good thing that you actually prevent yourself from all those things that gets your health infected with its poisonous temptations; smoking for example. It helps you to actually cleanse your lungs for at least half of the day from morning till sunset. And then wouldn't you know it? you're getting used to that idea already so it lessens yourself from smoking and actually save the human beings around you from being the second hand smokers. (;

My feet ran down the stairs right after I had myself scented with Anna Sui's perfume and all dolled up to look like a demure eighteen year old Malay girl who is ready to beraya. Mum and dad gave a little Kaaa-ching right after I seek for forgiveness and kisses their hands. Oh yes, seeking for forgiveness really does have its benefits. Since it is a tradition to go to the mosque for Raya prayers, I went there with my family and get our prayers done then only we headed to my grandparent's place located not faraway from Subang Jaya. Lets just call that place, Shah Alam. :) Not really a kampung isn't it? I know but I have no complaints there. Although there are some down side of it because last time Penang was the place to Raya but my grandparents moved down here so now no beaches anymore or cheap markets at Batu Ferringhi. That is The place to go for all you shopaholics Though if you're all about Originality then don't go there because from Gucci to Prada it's all fake sweetie but hey they do look real.

Ketupat, Rendang, Lemang and tasty Raya cookies were there for my mouth to get a feed on and my little tummy could store. I ate almost every few hours. That's how delicious it is. You taste once you'll never get enough. The day before my mom had a little helper which is her daughter; mainly me. We made rendang together and it tasted superb! I Would actually let you have a taste but its finished by the time it was the second day of raya. Many photographs were taken, Many. Seriously. M-A-N-Y. Family photo shots and many more but I couldn't upload it right now considering my laptop is sulking away with me so it doesn't want to cooperate with my camera's cable, it keeps rejecting it so I might have to do it later on which I have to apologize that for.

A few photos would get your imagination clear up of how My Raya day went. It was so much fun, I can't never ask for other festivities like this One. <3

Colours of Malaysia Part 2

Okay so as promise, these are the photographs that has been captured to freeze the memory up in photo ops so it will never be forgotten and can be look again when it feels like its fading away. I spent half of my day crawling around the mall with my best friends, it was a day filled with laughter and never ending smiles. Indeed we were fasting so no food stops but to waste the time away so that we could feed our little hungry monsters which is our tummy we went for a movie. Its called Step Up 3D. I would advise you to go catch that flick if you have not because it is one movie that doesn't bore you to sleep! or requires you to think. You only need your eyes and that's about it and your mouth to go "Wow, Omg! I wanna do that!". (;

But before the movie, We did a little photo shoot down at the exhibition area in Sunway Pyramid. The setting was incredible it takes you to a reminiscent of how it is like to be back in your home town. your Kampung. One show stopping, eye-catching thing about the exhibition was the train, yes the KTM train. Our own Malaysian Trademark train. They had counters standing up with a fake timetable, and so much more. So it does gives me a sense of how far we had gone from the old days to these modern days after Our country was given it's independence. The way they captured everything to live is very believable that you would actually miss riding those two big tire bicycles, playing those traditional board games; dam, congkak and many more. Making me realize how much Malaysia, My country has evolve.

I never got the taste of how it feels like to actually climb a coconut tree, or pick beautiful bunga raya from a garden nearby my home and go down the river to just splash about with friends. The way my mom described her old days really made me feel like I want it but it's far too aghast now. It is a vast difference the way the old days teenagers have fun and nowadays teenagers have fun. Tears roaming free in my eyes as I never will get that chance because everything is too modernize now. Hey I am a city girl but I do want to feel like a Kampung girl for once.

Ps, I adore Europe, but I LOVE Malaysia.

Colours of Malaysia Part 1

Colours that ignite the Malaysian flag are those four vibrant colours; Red, blue, yellow and white and brought all the different races together into 1 Malaysia! Apparently I haven’t got the time to blog on the day where we celebrated our Country’s 53rd birthday. But here I am now reporting for duty on a Saturday approximately at 3:17 PM. Flashback to the night before I was anxiously awaiting for those pretty fire crackers to burst into the night sky and bring stunning colours to the ocean of cloudy stars. Precisely 11:58 PM mummy and I went out to watch them live in our eyes later on 12:00 AM on the dot. It was breath-taking, the way those fire crackers dancing around in the horizon of our Malaysian Moon sky. Yes, on the 31st of August Two Thousand and Ten My beautiful Country has turned half a decade with three years tops old and gain its independence back in 9-teen Fifty- 7.

Initially I wanted to take photographs but mummy was reluctant considering she was wearing her night gown as I was wearing mine so it all boils down to photographs that were captured in minds but not in film but it’s alright I am photographing it in words aren’t I? I felt logy the next day itself since my eyes shut closed from the world at four in the morning. Though, it doesn’t stop me from having my Tuesday holiday to go to waste so I got up rejuvenated and ready to begin my Tuesday morning. Of course I had made my dark brown eyes read the newspapers to actually read articles just for that day’s specials. Articles about Merdeka! and so much more. Those words the writers used were captivating enough for me to feel the sparks of Malaysia turning 53 years old just like how my father who turned that age at the same month as Malaysia only 24 days earlier.

My day drags on but it wasn’t filled with utter boredom more to happening chaos with everyone excited to do their own thing since it is holiday, Malaysians are having their break for that Tuesday to do something that is laced with the word fun. For me, I made my Own Independence Day fun by getting myself involved with a movie-watching day with my mates. The mall is always the victim of any holidays, since that is where our body would be aiming to go at. On that day it was Sunway Pyramid that became the victim of the day. Granted, I might not have photographs on the night before but I do have photographs on the day after. It will all come at Colours of Malaysia part 2. Ps, the photograph located was drawn by an artist whom I don't know but I think it's pretty so thank you, you. (;
